First time out in a month, made shopping at tesco much more fun. Who knew how big those parent and child bays were? So much room, I could have parked sideways.

Can't get the Spitfire out tonight for East Berks club night (TSSC) as national grid have finally filled the hole in front of my garage after 52 days, trouble is they used so much tarmac I can't open the door.

Rushing to put the car in the garage i drove into the bolts sticking out of the garage door that i meant to sort out sometime. Ive destroyed the front O/S tyre and scraped my minilite.

As a 40th birthday treat, I repaced the foams in my headrests as they had completely collapsed.

A trip to work for the spitfire to celebrate being 39 today. At home the boy volunteered to blow out the candles and eat a little bit of birthday cake for the purple car.

Another MOT at Alfa Aid in Maidenhead although i won't go here again as the tester broke my brake light switch with his size 12 boots and sent me off to get a replacement myself

Went to the TSSC South of England meet with the boy and parked next to a MkIV with a Lenham Torado hardtop (targa)

Wonderful drive home in the sun. Waved at by a stranger, photographed by the people in another car at the lights and flashed by another Spitfire.

Driving to work and just as I was about to join the motorway a rock flew off a lorry in front and smashed the windscreen. Luckily i had the tonneau on, so only half the cockpit had glass in. Drove on to work slowly and then to the mobile fitters who said I had to come to them for a new Pilkington screen to be fitted.

driving to work this morning and my wiper switch died, but i found that if i went fast enough the rain rolled up the windscreen. only problem was off the motorway in traffic but luckily wasn't too bad

Nothing much to report in then last year and no major work has taken place. My son has taken to going for rides with me and we are probably on quite a few tourist shots of Windsor as we got caught outside the castle in traffic and he seemed to cause a stir with his Spitfire hat. I put the hardtop on a few weeks ago for the winter and he seemed less impressed without the wind in his hair.
